God’s Blueprint for Creation: Understanding Your Unique Purpose in Life

Introduction

In the vast creation of God, everything has a purpose. Each part serves a specific role from the tallest tree to the smallest blade of grass, from the vast oceans to the tiniest drop of water. And as humans, we too have a unique purpose woven into the fabric of existence. This article explores the significance of God’s purpose in creation and its impact on our lives.

Understanding God’s Purpose in Creation

Have you ever wondered why God created all that He created? He created trees, grasses, water, and flowers. He didn’t create just one tree; He created different trees. He created birds of other species, animals of various kinds, and water of different types and sizes. He created light, and He also created darkness. He created humans of different colours and races. God is purposeful.

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.” (Colossians 1:16)

Everything God created has a purpose for its existence. God is not wasteful; He doesn’t make mistakes. He is always deliberate and purposeful. God sees the end goal from the beginning. At the end of all things, God will evaluate everything He created from their purpose point of view. Anything that is not fulfilling its purpose is not in the rightful state.

Looking at the grasses by the roadside, they may appear useless and without essence, but little do you know that God sustains them for a purpose. Research has shown that grasses help to clean the air, trap carbon dioxide, reduce erosion from stormwater runoff, improve soil, decrease noise pollution, and reduce temperatures.

Unique Purpose

The Individual’s Unique Purpose

You are created for a purpose, a unique one for that matter. You have specifics that only you can fulfil perfectly. Every tree has a name and produces fruits; the same is true of you. There is a taste that your life must give to people, a fragrance that your appearance must bring to people, a sound that your voice has that only you possess. Break out of your shell, burst out of your cocoon, and fulfil your God-ordained purpose. The purpose is the reason God keeps you alive.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Living in Alignment with Purpose

Everything that we chase after, other than God’s purpose for our lives, is not sustainable and cannot bring us fulfilment. Fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives gives God glory and gives us fulfilment.

Purpose comes with process and timing. We must let God take us through the process, fix and mould us to bring out our uniqueness.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3)

Purpose

Examples from Scripture

To Ezekiel, God told him he had made him a watchman unto Israel (Ezekiel 13:17-19). To Moses, God told him He made him a god unto Pharaoh (Exodus 7:1). The same gender with different assignments at different times and with different expressions. God is purposeful.

Here are more examples from scripture:

  • Jeremiah: God appointed Jeremiah as a prophet to the nations, setting him apart from birth for this purpose (Jeremiah 1:5).

  • Esther: Esther was chosen by God to be queen during a critical time in history, ultimately using her position to save her people from destruction (Esther 4:14).

  • John the Baptist: John the Baptist was called to prepare the way for Jesus, fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah (Matthew 3:3).

  • Paul: Paul, formerly Saul, was specifically chosen by God to be an apostle to the Gentiles, spreading the Gospel far and wide (Acts 9:15).

  • Mary: Mary was chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus, the Saviour of the world, fulfilling the prophecy of the Messiah’s birth (Luke 1:30-33).

Your Responsibility

  • You are responsible for believing all that God has said concerning you and seeing yourself in that light.
  • Take a journal of your life experiences before now and connect them to your present; you will see all that God has been pointing you to His purpose for your life.
  • Prayerfully engage the Lord to get insight into His dealings with your life.
  • Ensure that you have a walking relationship with the Lord; this is the only way to sustain a purposeful life.

Conclusion

As you journey through life, remember that the essence of your life is the divine purpose of God. Just as every part of creation plays its role, we too are called to fulfill our purpose. By aligning ourselves with God’s plan, we find fulfilment and bring glory to our Creator. Let’s trust in God’s guidance as we walk our path.
